We have our work cut out for us. Our young varsity squad had its hands full at this Saturday's scrimmages against Pleasantville, Dobbs Ferry and Morristown High Schools. Let's give credit where it is due. The visiting teams were apparently well prepared, and came ready to play. Although things did not go very well in the beginning, the offense did sustain a few very impressive drives later in the morning. It is evident that with each snap of the ball there is improvement. In practice this week, the defense has been working extra hard in preparation for the season opener at St. Luke’s.

The weather prediction is for clouds and rain on opening day, but nothing can dampen the enthusiasm of our young men as they head into the season opener. They have not yet played a regular season game as a group, so let's watch and enjoy as this season's squad develops its own personality.  I am certain that they are prepared to give no less than a 100% effort each time out, and this is the criterion on which to base any team's success.

Once again, the JV performed well in the scrimmages. They stopped a pair of drives inside the 5-yard line by supplementing good positional defense with crisp execution. The Offense moved the ball on a long, sustained drive into the end zone. They were able to gain yardage on the ground, and showed signs of developing a formidable aerial attack.        See you all Saturday at St. Luke's                  Lets Go Hornets!
